Roads to Peace LGBTQ+ Advocacy
We recently changed our name to Roads to Peace from the Clinton County Women’s Center. This change happened because we do not provide services or shelter solely to women. Our services are available to all people, regardless of gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation.
All of our staff receive LGBTQ+ specific training. We recognize that victims and abusers of all genders exist and have knowledge of trans, queer, and LGB specific types of abuse. We recognize that a large portion of the LGB community and an even larger portion of the trans community has experienced domestic and/or sexual violence. We also recognize that long, healthy, and happy LGBTQ+ lives are possible and that people living them exist within our community.
In our shelter, all bathrooms are single stall and gender neutral. We are often able to provide individual, unshared bedrooms for increased privacy and comfort. Rooms are typically only shared by guests who are not family when all other rooms are filled.
Our services are all confidential and LGBTQ+ status is protected under our confidentiality.
We have an LGBTQ+ Support Group that meets once a week. For more information on date, time, and location, please contact Jenn by email at email@example.com or by hotline (570) 748-9509.
